講題：Role of the dorsal hippocampus in stress susceptibility

摘要：The dorsal and ventral hippocampus have distinct functional roles: while the dorsal hippocampus is crucial for spatial learning, the ventral hippocampus is responsible for the regulation of affects and emotions. Nonetheless, emerging findings have suggested important roles of the dorsal hippocampus in the regulation of stress responses. In this talk, I will present both in vitro (electrophysiology) and in vivo findings (calcium imaging) to support a contribution of the dorsal hippocampus to stress susceptibility and resilience. Findings from these studies could reveal novel therapeutic targets for treating stress-related mood disorders.
