摘要:
The tyrosine phosphatase PTP1B is an ER-tethered enzyme transiently activated by insulin signaling to terminate the insulin response. However, metabolic stressors can inappropriately and constitutively activate PTP1B with extensive functional consequences. Here, I will give an overview of mechanisms (insulin signaling, endocannabinoid production, presynaptic NMDA receptors) affected by neuron-selective inappropriate activation of PTP1B and its relevance to anxiety, schizophrenia, autism, and Alzheimer’s disease.
